Biography

Dr Drozd is a graduate of the Faculty of Chemistry, Warsaw University of Technology in the scope of Biotechnology. In 2018, he earned his PhD in Chemistry for distinguished dissertation entitled "New strategies for gold surface modification for catalytic and bioanalytical applications". He is currently employed as an R&D technologist (since 2018) and a head of Laboratory of Nanomaterials and Biosensors (since 2021) at CEZAMAT WUT and as assistant professor (since 2019) at the Chair of Medical Biotechnology, Faculty of Chemistry WUT. His research interests cover modern (bio)analytical chemistry. Dr Drozd has several years of experience and practical skills in the field of immunoenzymatic and catalytic reactions, synthesis and (bio)functionalization of nanomaterials as well as characterization of molecular interactions. Co-author of 21 scientific publications, including 16 from JCR list (HI = 6). He participates in several research projects aimed at surface biofunctionalization, designing of biosensor receptor layers, synthesis of functional nanomaterials, development of miniaturized enzyme immunoassays and characterization of receptor-ligand interactions using SPR technique.

  • synthesis of functional nanoparticles (catalytic, plasmonic and magnetic) and their surface modification with bioreceptors,
  • characterization of nanomaterials (DLS, UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometry),
  • studies of intermolecular interactions by means of surface plasmon resonance and related techniques
