The Minister of Education and Science Przemysław Czarnek visited the Center for Advanced Materials and Technology of the Warsaw University of Technology (CEZAMAT). During the event, It was announced cooperation within the LiteBIRD project by the Secretary of the Copernicus Academy prof. Krzysztof Górski (NASA) and representing the Japanese Space Agency prof. Masashi Hazumi.

– We are in a place that, as I have calculated, in four years time will be able to produce integrated circuits and microprocessors here. Here in Poland, with full security for the Polish society and state. We have everything for it. We have excellent scientists and we have money. A billion zlotys is needed to launch this process and we guarantee this billion zlotys to CEZAMAT. We have excellent partners: the Copernicus Academy, the Łukasiewicz Research Network, and we have excellent collaborators in the person of prof. Masashi Hazumi. We have potential – said Minister Przemysław Czarnek.

During the meeting, CEZAMAT was represented by Mariusz Wielec – director of CEZAMAT and prof. dr hab. Eng. Romuald Beck – plenipotentiary for strategic matters. Participants of the delegation of the Ministry of Education and Science were shown around the laboratories and technical facilities, and became acquainted with the scientific achievements, projects and technologies developed at the Centre.

The Minister also pointed to the guarantees of cooperation between individual universities: AGH University of Science and Technology, Wrocław University of Science and Technology and Gdańsk University of Technology in educating future staff. – The money is here, the technology is here, the potential is here, but you need people. We need to educate about 300 people and this will happen over the next four years – said the minister.

During the meeting, cooperation was also initiated between Polish universities, the Copernicus Academy and the Japanese Space Agency in the LiteBIRD project.

– We are here to show our potential. On the basis of the newly created Copernicus Academy – and we are on the eve of the 550th anniversary of the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus and the World Copernicus Congress – to cooperate at the highest world level with outstanding scientists in projects such as LiteBIRD – he said. By the way, the minister reminded that the Copernicus Academy is not to replace anyone, but to strengthen Polish science and all universities in Poland. – Cooperation under LiteBIRD is cooperation between Poland and Japan, and not only with the Copernicus Academy – said the minister.
