Seminarium CEZAMAT

Szanowni Państwo, w imieniu Politechniki Warszawskiej oraz projektu

Centrum Zaawansowanych Materiałów i Technologii – CEZAMAT

zapraszamy na SEMINARIUM NAUKOWE

w dn. 25 czerwca br. (czwartek) o godz. 16.00

w Gmachu Głównym PW (sala 124 – SALA SENATU).

Podczas spotkania prezentację pt.

Cs-corrected dedicated STEM in Materials Science: Examples and case studies*

przedstawi:

dr inż. TOMASZ PŁOCIŃSKI

Modern electron microscopes became a powerful tool which can offer very good results during common work in electron microscopy Lab. Even very complicated microscope can be operated by young PhD students or PostDocs. But the microscope located at University in the city center cannot be only  easy  in operation but also it has to be difficult to broken by inexperienced operators and less sensitive for the environment. Because the microscopes are quite expensive they have to be also versatile instruments. Advanced microscopes can offer many imaging and analytical models like:

- BF-BrightField, showing diffraction contrast,

- ZC - revealing atomic mass contrast

- SE - which can be used to surface topography investigations

- EDX and EELS - for chemical composition analysis

- CBED, SAD - diffraction for phase and orientation analysis

The wide range of possible applications for microstructure observations can be well described on the basis of results obtained during many years operation in the Scanning Electron Microscopy Lab. Located at Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering.

During the presentation there will be presented results collected on High Resolution Scanning Transmission Electron Microscope equipped with Cs corrector and many detectors. The variety of different materials investigated by this instrument can be nice example of possible needs in CEZAMAT Centre during the future work.

Zachęcamy do przekazania informacji o seminarium wszystkim zainteresowanym.

Serdecznie zapraszamy!
